What's New with the Sensation crew!!

Ember is now pointed in the breed ring - she earned her first point on 8/14 with a BOB, despite a heat index of 97!

Jean Carman & T broke into the title vault in USDAA on 8/13 and came away with a Performance I Gamblers title! T is now Sensation's Hearts are Wild UD RA NA OF PG1.

Targa finished her JS-E title on 7/31.

Good Rally day on 7/30, as Brooks finished her RAE including a 3rd place in Excellent B! Flame earned 2 2nd places for an RAE leg, and Ember earned her second RN leg with a 99 and 2nd place.

Nancy Burka and Poppin finished the AXJ title on 7/25, in stifling heat. They are now on the hunt for double-Qs!

Alexa and Keeper finished TWO titles in AKC agility on 7/9 - his Open FAST (OF) title and his MX! They are still trying for that last AXJ leg, ever so close so many times now, but it will come. Mama Brooks celebrated her 11th birthday on July 10 by earning a Triple-Q!

Jim's Targa FINALLY earned her Advanced Snooker title in USDAA on 6/27. Advanced Standard is the next holy grail.

Jean Carman and T earned their Open FAST title on 6/25, and added her second OA leg as well!

The tracking accomplishments just keep coming . . . Ulrike and Till, our German Sensation family members, passed their FH2 tracking test on 6/20! This was a track that was 1 1/4 miles long!! More details are coming but we are tremendously proud of Till and Ulrike! Till is now Sensation Livin' the Good Life VPG3 FH2 AD.

THE BIG NEWS!!! Hokey and Deb ran a 30-minute VST track in VT on the evening of 6/12 and PASSED! He is the first Sensation pup to earn the VST title!! Huge congratulations to Deb and Hokey, who now is a TDX pass from being a Champion Tracker!!

USDAA trial on 6/11-6/13 was a successful one for Brooks, who earned 11 Qs, including one in each of the tournament classes (Grand Prix, Steeplechase and Team) in the Performance division. Flame finished her Relay CH-Bronze and Gambler CH-Bronze titles, and Targa also finished her Advanced Relay title.

Flame and Targa ran in an ASCA agility trial right in their own backyard on 6/5 & 6/6! Targa earned her JS-O title, and Flame her JS-E and RS-E titles - she is now collecting ATCH points.

There's a new herding title in the Sensation family - Ember did a wonderful job at the GLBTC herding trial on May 29/30 and earned her PT! She has a lot of natural talent so it will be fun to work on the trial levels with her. Her mama Flame celebrated her 6th birthday by earning 3 of 4 Qs, doing some really nice work and picking up 4 more HC points - she now has 11 so she only needs her 2 first places for her championship. She's been SO close to them several times, hopefully we can get lucky soon!

It didn't take long - Jean Carman and T earned their third UD leg on May 23rd and T now is a Utility Dog! She is the first Sensation Heartlet to earn that title and only the second UD Sensation dog (her mama Brooks was the first) so we are very proud! T is now Sensation's Hearts are Wild UD RA NA NF.

The ABTC National Specialty held in TX in late April was windy! Flame earned 2 more HC points with a third place on A course sheep one day, and had a really nice run on A course ducks but couldn't quite get the ducks to stay together to finish the course. She did have the fastest NQ time on B course ducks one day! :-)

Flame and Brooks each earned a 1st in FAST, and Brooks finished 2nd to Flame's 1st. Flame also earned a 1st in Mon Exc Std and 2nd in Tues Exc JWW. Brooks had some stiffness in her knee and knocked some bars but did earn a Q in Tues Exc JWW. Teague Jackson and Riley earned a 2nd in Tues Exc Std, and Beat snagged a 3rd in Mon Exc Std. Hokey ran both days and didn't Q but looked terrific out there!

Hokey and Sue's Ember were both in Wild Card Novice. Hokey did a great job, earning 2nd place to his housemate Queezle by one point, and Ember finished 4th. Ember then went into the sweepstakes ring and showed like a seasoned special - she was terrific! She shocked us by taking 4th in a class of 12. Good baby!

Jean Carman and T are 2/3 UD! T earned her 2nd UD leg from the Utility B class on 4/3.

Deb Eldredge & Hokey earned the XF title with a wonderful run on 4/2, so he is (at least for now) retired from the FAST class.

Alexa & Keeper finished their USDAA Advanced Relay title on 2/28, and also added first place Qs in Starters Jumpers & Advanced Standard.

Brooks is now Platinum! She finished her ADCH-Platinum title on 2/28, earning 6 of 6 Qs on the weekend including her last ever runs at 26" in the Pairs class each day.

Poppin earned a Starters Pairs leg on 2/20 which finished her Agility Dog title! She is now able to move to Advanced in all games. Stay tuned for many more USDAA brags from Nancy and Poppin!

Two down, two to go - Brooks finished her Tournament Master-Platinum title on 2/20 and earned a Pairs leg on 2/21. She now needs 2 more Masters Pairs legs to earn her ADCH-Platinum and be done with 26" forever!

Flame earned her CDX on 1/31, making her "mom" sweat through those nerve-wracking group stays. She's most of the way trained through Utility so we can start working on that in earnest now.

Nancy Burka & Poppin shook off the dust after 2 months of no agility trials and earned the USDAA Starters Standard title on 1/17! Poppin also added her second Starters Jumpers leg.

After almost 2 1/2 years of trying for ONE USDAA Advanced Jumpers leg, Flame finally did it on 12/27 and earned her Advanced Agility Dog title! She had also earned her Relay Champion title the day before.

Brooks was 8 for 8 in an AKC agility trial for the first time in her life, and in the process finished her MACH8 on 12/4! She has 2 2Qs to start on MACH9 which we'll only do if she's happy and healthy enough to work toward it. Targa had a good weekend also, earning her AXJ on 12/4 and her AX on 12/5! Flame added one double-Q and also finished 5th out of 93 dogs in one ExcStd run.

Flame earned her 2nd and 3rd HIBd legs to finish her title on Nov 20/21, with the second leg a 96.5 and RHIT! She was 7 for 9 in qualifiers for the whole weekend and did a wonderful job overall. Too bad the next herding trial isn't until May!

The Fire litter saw their first title earned on Nov 15, when Ember ran a 485-yard, 5-turn track in 5 minutes to earn her TD! She is now Sensation's Firestorm TD. The first of many titles, we hope!

Flame earned a second place out of 12 dogs in Advanced A course sheep on 11/6 to add 3 HC points to her total. She also earned her first HIBd leg. Mama Brooks had her last two herding runs, on A-course ducks, and though she didn't qualify, she was very happy - and probably happier to be retired from herding!

Nancy Burka and Poppin finished the Novice FAST title and added 2 Open legs in early November, giving her 4 AKC titles earned in 3 areas of competition this year. Heading into 2010, she is Sensation's Hearts a'Poppin CD RA AX OAJ NF NAC.

Flame had a terrific October in AKC agility, earning three straight double-Qs, including her first 2 triple-Qs (including FAST) to bring her total to 5 (she only had 2 in the previous 20 months!). She also finished her MXJ on 10/23.

Several ASCA agility titles were earned on 10/17 & 10/18. Flame picked up her Open Regular and Elite Gamblers titles, & Targa earned her Novice Standard, Novice Jumpers, and Open Gamblers titles. Brooks had to run a few classes to make up for some Qs that ASCA disallowed from years ago to officially earn her ATCH (which she actually earned on 7/4/08).

Baby Ember passed her tracking certification track on 10/16, so she will be entered in a tracking test in November.

Nancy Burka and Poppin finished their Open JWW title the first weekend in October! Poppin is now Sensation's Hearts a'Poppin CD RA AX OAJ NAC.

Our Car litter is not to be - Targa's ultrasounds showed that she likely resorbed a pregnancy. We will regroup and plan on a breeding of Flame next spring.

Teague and his girls were on the road so we just found out that Beat finished her XF on 8/30, and earned a double-Q in Std/JWW the same day! They can now work on triple-Qs! Beat is Sensation's Young at Heart AX AXJ XF.

Flame earned her HXAs title on 9/19 - the first Sensation HX on sheep! She is now Sensation's Hearts on Fire CD RE TDX HXAds HSBd MX AXJ MXF AD GCH RM ASA AS RS-N GS-O JS-O.

Another Platinum title for Brooks - this time it is the Jumpers CH-Platinum, earned on 9/12. Also that same day, Flame earned her Gamblers CH title.

Poppin and Nancy Burka earned their CD in three straight tries, with great scores and 2 3rd places!!

Brooks finished her USDAA Gamblers CH-Platinum title on 8/30. Only 9 Qs needed at 26" to earn the ADCH Platinum now!

Targa has now been bred to Merlyn to produce the Sensation Car litter. Puppies would be due in late October.

Hokey finished his AX title on 8/15 with a first place in the competitive 20" class! Double-Qs are coming next! Hokey is now Sensation Coyote Heart Dance CD RAE TD HSAds AX AXJ NAP NJP OF CL1-R CL1-S CL1-F, ASCA CD TD STDds, APDT R-1MCL.

Jean Carman and T got a Q and a second place in Novice FAST on August 2, which finishes their NF title! T is now Sensation's Hearts Are Wild CDX RA NA NF.

Cedar earned his PAX title and his MXP3 in late July! That's a terrific accomplishment for Lynn and Cedar, who is now officially known as U-ACHX Sensation's Life of the Party CD RA HIAs MX MXJ PAX MXP3 MJP2 AAD NAC NGC O-OJC TN-N.

Sila managed to put together a qualifying run for the third time in Open A obedience on 7/24, so she finished her CDX title! She is now officially retired from competition, though she might play in Preferred agility here and there. Her registered name is now ADCH U-ACH MACH Sensation's Life Spirit CDX RE TD HSAs XF EAC EGC EJC. We are tremendously proud of all she has accomplished!

Flame finished her MXF title on 7/18, which is the third "X" title she's earned since early May.

Excellent FAST (XF) titles were earned on the same course by Jim Johnston and Targa, and Sue Fregien and Sila, on the fourth of July.

Brooks earned her Standard CH-Platinum title at our club's USDAA trial in June (see two brags down for details on those titles). 2 down, 4 to go!

It was a great Heartlet weekend on June 6 & 7. Keeper and Alexa Goulet earned first places in Open JWW and Excellent A Std to finish the OAJ and AX titles! Keeper is now Sensation's Keeper of My Heart CDX RN HT AX OAJ NF. His sisters T and Flame each earned a first leg toward obedience titles - T and Jean Carman earned their first Utility A leg, and Flame and Sue Fregien earned their first Open A leg. And another sister, Poppin & Nancy Burka, earned 2 Open JWW legs over the weekend as well!

Brooks has finished the first of (hopefully) several Platinum Champion titles in USDAA. A Platinum CH title is earned when a dog has earned 50 Masters Qs in a class. Brooks earned 2 Masters Snooker Qs on 5/30 and 5/31 which were legs 50 & 51, so she now has her SCH-Platinum title. She needs just a handful of legs in each of the other events, and will hopefully finish all of them this summer (except perhaps Pairs, where she needs 11 more Qs). Targa also finished her Advanced Jumpers title over the weekend.

Beat and Teague Jackson earned the AKC AX title on 5/30, so she is now able to start racking up double-Qs!

At the GLBTC herding trial 5/23 & 5/24, Brooks and Flame each earned two points toward their Herding Champion titles, earning 2nd places on ducks. Flame came oh-so-close to finishing her HXAs title, missing the Q by a heartbreaking 1/2 point! Tom Rosenthal and Bogey made their herding trial debut and earned their first PT leg.

The 2009 Tervuren National Specialty, held in New England, was again a wonderful time for reunions and successes. Flame started it off by earning her HXAd title on Saturday with a very nice run, close to Reserve High in Trial. Brother Hokey & Deb Eldredge earned their first HIAd leg with a first place, despite almost no practice this spring! In agility, the big news was Jean Carman and T's qualifier in Novice Standard to finish their first agility title! This team has come a long way and will be one to watch in the future. Flame won the Monday JWW class, and Brooks earned 1 first and 2 seconds. Teague Jackson and Riley had one first place, and Beat also had a placement. Wonderful job by all the Sensation pups!

There were 4 Sensation dogs in the Open A obedience class - 40% of the entry! Though there were no Qs, I was very impressed with the work of the Heartlets (Targa, Flame and Hokey) especially since it was their first outdoor trial! T was entered in Utility and had a nice *quiet* run, though no Q. In Rally, Brooks and Flame each earned an RAE leg, and Targa earned her first RE leg. Baby Ember was a hit with the spectators and handled the traveling like a pro.

May 3rd, Raja's birthday (she would have been 16), proved to be a day of celebration. She smiled down on her daughter and granddaughter in tracking, as Sila earned her TD (first try) and Flame ran a gorgeous 15 minute TDX track and earned her TDX! I couldn't be more proud of my girls! Sila is now retired from tracking, and Flame will begin VST training this summer.
