Born last, Targa was the biggest puppy of the Heartlet litter. The personable and energetic Yellow pup was in the running to stay and become Sue's new pup, before Flame declared herself. Targa left for her home in NY and earned 2 breed championship points under the expert handling of Kate Eldredge during 2005. Unfortunately, family circumstances led her to come back home to Wisconsin, where she has become Jim's dog to train. It's been a struggle for Jim to keep up with her!

Targa inherited the incessant ball drive that her gramma Raja had, which has made her very easy to reinforce in training. She is incredibly happy to work, showing enthusiasm for any event or activity, and becoming quite the speed demon in agility. She shares kisses very readily with almost anyone who asks. She has also become a very nice worker on sheep, finishing her HSAs in fall 2006. Jim and Targa are still working through the transition of Jim's "slow dog to fast dog" career in agility handling, and though they both have a lot to learn, they are having a lot of fun.

 

Targa became the first Champion Heartlet, finishing her AKC championship on Jim's birthday in 2007 (August 26th)! She is the dam of our Top Litter, a singleton named Bogey.

In early October 2008, Targa passed her first tracking test (in only 6 minutes!) to earn her TD and become an ABTC Versatile Tervuren. She finished her CD on Saturday 3/7/09 at the GLBTC specialty, then moved up and earned her first CDX leg with a first place! She has made Jim enjoy obedience training!
