Flame lives here with us, having been the early pick of several experienced dog people coming to see the litter as babies. I wasn't sure, wondering if Orange or Yellow might be who I wanted. When she was 7 weeks old though, she picked up a stick and trotted around the yard, head held high, sure that she was the coolest dog on earth - just as her grandma Raja had done so many years ago on the Oregon beach as a 10 week old. I knew who my girl was, and she has been reminding me of Raja ever since!

Flame damaged the growth plate of her hip with a slip on ice as a puppy. She developed avascular necrosis of the femoral head and required a total hip replacement at 13 months of age. She made a complete recovery and has been extremely active ever since. Herding started at 6 weeks on ducks, and she earned her HC in Sept 2011. Tracking came very easily to her as well - she earned her TDX on a gorgeous 15 minute track in May 2009 and is now on to VST work.

Agility has been a blast, as she has incredible speed & responsiveness, but not much patience for my handling errors! We've earned many titles and hope to earn more. Her MACH came in July 2011 and her ADCH will hopefully come in 2012. She's been a joy to train and trial in all venues - a happy, driven worker who takes on all challenges and asks for more to do. And when she's done, she's a major-league cuddle-pup!


Flame is the dam of our "Fire" litter, born March 13 2009. She also had a singleton male puppy, our Light Litter, on 1/16/11, and her Baseball Litter arrived on 8/18/11. She took them for a ride in finishing her MACH on July 23rd! She has been a terrific mom for all her babies, and is a sweetheart to live with.
